Body builders report improved recovery with Solis Sauna:

"A few weeks before the contest, we really dial in the intensity level of cardio training to cut up the legs.  We start interval training at 14 weeks out along with our precontest diet.  Our intervals for the majority of the 14 weeks are done on cross trainers or a bike for about 20 minutes, twice a day.  At about 3 weeks out from contest day, we add stair workouts twice a day to get the legs lean, going at a moderate pace, for a 1/2 hour.  On leg weight training day, this means our legs are getting blitzed 3 times a day!

At the 3 weeks out from contest time, our muscles, especially the legs are "tired" all the time.  We've discovered a great way to get through the remaining weeks.  To aid in recovering from these tough workouts, we use a portable far infrared sauna in the evening every night before bedtime.  Our portable far infrared sauna came from Solis; please click on the link below for more information on the far infrared saunas and other products.

Our sauna is completely portable and folds up, with its own carrying handle.  Inside is a comfortable chair and there are footrests to put your feet on.  It is easy to set up, maintain and clean too.

After a contest, you need to recover.  We generally take about 2 weeks away from the gym and relax the diet; then after 2 weeks, we are anxious to begin training again and adopt an alkaline food plan, which keeps us energetic and leaner in the off-season.  We catch up on our visiting and socializing with family and friends or just kick back and enjoy a good book.

The far infrared sauna zips open and is quite roomy inside.  We put a towel on the chair because you do sweat!  A towel wrapped around the neck ensures the heat stays in.  Our clients can benefit from it after a session with us as well."

What people are saying about Solis Far Infrared Saunas and Lamps:

"About a year ago I purchased a wooden box infrared sauna. This sauna takes approximately 20 minutes to reach the desired temperature that I usually stay in it for about 20 minutes.
After trying your sauna, I find it heats up immediately and the entire body sweats greatly, including my head. In comparison, the wooden box sauna does not promote much sweating at all, plus only certain areas of my body sweat.
I feel great after using this Solis Sauna for only 15 minutes." K. Chisholm

"It warms me up so quickly. I love having a sauna and I thought I would miss the 'whole body experience', but I discovered that having your head out is a real benefit. It's great." J. Moolla

"I love the far infrared sauna. My clients love it, too. Immediate radiant heat! It is great as a treatment before massage, and for deep relaxation at the end of the day. I have measured clients blood pressure before and after sauna use and find that it has a stabilizing effect and is lowering blood pressure levels."
Dr. D Stevens, D. Vet Med. British Columbia

"One sauna session makes me feel like i have been doing aqua sizes all afternoon. I feel warm, relaxed and refreshed." S. Finn

"My family uses the Solis Sauna every day. A 15-20 minute session is relaxing. A sauna session is a great way to start or end the day. Our family uses the sauna to sweat out the flu or colds before they can take hold. We take it with us when we travel and do not want to be without it.
As a massage therapist, I use it as a pre-treatment modality and as an Acupuncturist, I have replaced all the older versions of infrared lamps with the Solis lamps. they are safer, stable, sturdy and they will not cause burns."

"My right rotator cuff tear was not healing in the first 2 years after diagnosis. At 2 1/2 years, with an MRI confirmed full thickness tear for which surgery was recommended I purchased the goose neck shaped Solis Far Infrared Table Lamp and immediately started using it on my right shoulder.
The Solis Lamp facilitated healing by improving blood circulation to the area. (Tendons and ligaments have very poor blood circulation). The increased blood circulation brought more nutrients to the shoulder, promoting growth of new, healthy tissue and also removing waste products from the traumatized tissue, decreasing inflammation and facilitating faster healing. The Far Infrared Lamp was also very warm and comforting. Any pain or tension in the area felt as though it had 'melted away'.
Strengthening exercise were the next step in my recovery process. As I began to strengthen the muscles, knots regularly developed in my neck and shoulders. Prior to using the Solis Far Infrared Lamp I would have seen a Massage Therapist for pressure release technique. Using my Solis Lamp, and self-applied pressure message from the fingertips of my left hand, I was able to dissolve the knots on my own. I felt empowered to be able to treat myself and facilitated a more speedy and thorough recovery." Hayley Johnston RN

"Hayley Johnston worked hard in therapy and was able to push herself, progressing magnificently. In part, due to the benefits in pain control and circulation that she felt with her infrared lamp."

Heidi Fedoruk BScPT, CMAC, CGIMS

"When I use the Far Infrared Sauna before a message treatment, it feels as if the energy flow is already stimulated. The therapeutic experience for my clients are very satisfied with the sauna."
E. Hemmings RMT

"I travel a lot and weight restrictions on planes have prevented me from taking the sauna with me; however, I pack the far infrared light for all my trips. Its pliable neck enables me to pack it easily and stretch it to whatever part of my body is ailing - and at my age, there seems to always be some place that needs attention!"
