 Far Infrared energy is the part of sunlight that we experience as deep penetrating heat. Visible light is the part of sunlight with wavelengths between 0.4 and .075 um or micrometers that is visible to the human eye. Wavelengths longer than viible light are called infrared or 'infra' to the red ray of light. The red ray is the last ray in the visible light spectrum. Infrared is separated into near, middle and far infrared.

According to an AMA report on August 7, 1981, the human body radiates energy at a 9.4 wavelength or 9.4 um. Infrared wavelength is between 0.78 and 1000 um. Some consider Far Infrared energy to be light with the wavelength of 4 - 25 um. 4 - 14 um is called the growing light. This is the wavelength that has proven to be the most beneficial to humans and stimulates growth in vegetation.
